Tuk tuk party The Hague: celebrate in an authentic Thai tuk tuk

Hire a tuk tuk for the afternoon or the evening and the ride itself becomes the party. We drive birthdays, hen and stag parties, work anniversaries and children’s parties through The Hague, in tuk tuks that came over from Thailand and run on petrol.

A driver comes with every tuk tuk, so nobody in your group has to stay sober for the wheel. Bring your own music, decorate the tuk tuk however you like, and tell us where you want to go: a stop at the Hofvijver for photographs, a loop past the Grote Kerk, or straight on to the restaurant. We have been doing this since 2008.

Occasions we get booked for

  • Hen and stag parties — bar to bar, or an activity first and dinner after
  • Birthdays — turning eighteen or turning eighty, the tuk tuk gets the same reaction
  • Anniversaries — twelve and a half, twenty-five, forty or fifty years, at work or married
  • Children’s parties — any age, babies in a baby seat included
  • Leaving dos and retirements — the last trip home, done properly
  • Graduations — a lap of the city with the diploma

Hen and stag parties

Bar to bar, a workshop and then dinner, or a run through town after dark with the tuk tuks lit up. You pick the stops, the playlist is yours, and the driver stays sober. Book more than one and the group stays together instead of splitting across taxis.

Birthdays and surprise rides

We can collect someone from their front door or turn up at the restaurant, with balloons, numbers on the roof or streamers. It works for an eighteenth as well as for a sixty-fifth.

Anniversaries

Twenty-five years at the company, or twenty-five years married — either way we dress a tuk tuk for it. For a wedding anniversary we drive the couple the way we drove them the first time; see our wedding transport.

How many people fit, and how long you stay out

Our big tuk tuks have two benches of three. Six children fit easily; with adults, four or five sit more comfortably. There is also a smaller tuk tuk for three. For a larger group we send several and you travel as a convoy.

Most parties book somewhere between two and four hours, but you decide: an hour round the old centre works as well as an evening that runs from the first drink to the last. We collect you where it suits — at home, at the office, at the hotel or at the restaurant door.

Rain, cold and late nights

The tuk tuks are covered. When it rains we close the rain covers, and in winter there are fleece blankets on the benches; only heavy snow keeps us in. After dark the tuk tuks are lit, and that is when a tuk tuk party in The Hague photographs best.

Children’s parties

Children tend to remember the tuk tuk longer than the cake. We take them round the city or deliver the whole group to the party address, driven gently. Let us know how many children and adults are coming and we will send enough tuk tuks.

Anything else

Leaving dos, retirements, a passed exam, a sweet sixteen, a baby shower, a family reunion — we have driven all of them. Something different in mind? Ask. If it is work-related, see corporate outings or events and parties.

Frequently asked questions

How many people fit in a tuk tuk?

Our Big Fun tuks have two three-seater benches. They seat six children or six not-too-large adults; for adults we recommend four to five people per tuk. We also have one tuk for three people. Coming with a larger group? Then we simply use several tuks.

Can children come along?

Yes, children of all ages are welcome. We have even taken babies along in a baby seat.

How long can we hire the tuk tuks?

As long as you like. There is no maximum: we are regularly booked for a whole day.

What if it rains?

Then we simply keep driving. Our tuks have rain covers, and when it is cold, fleece blankets are ready for you. We only stay off the road in heavy snowfall.

Where do we get on and off?

We agree on the pick-up point and the end point together with you.
